Vangent and the US Air Force have developed
a master's degree curriculum in Applied Leadership, delivered via
self-paced distance education. The instructional design optimizes
learning and provides for real world application and authentic
assessment, within substantial situational constraints. Qualitative
simulations put learners in realistic leadership situations
they will face on the job. As in the real world, learners can seek
information and consult
others before acting or making decisions, and can confirm and
reinforce their understanding
of approaches, theories, and other supporting knowledge. Both
situational performance and supporting knowledge are assessed and
elaborative feedback supports and enhances learning.
